Life Sentence For River Taff Murder

A man from Cardiff will spend at least 20 years behind bars for murdering a man for his pin number.

45 year old David Lewis was battered and strangled before being left in the River Taff back in March.

He suffered 80 injuries to his head and face and another 20 to his neck.

The Cardiff Crown Court heard 28 year old heroin addict Gareth Jones attacked him - wanting his bank details.

He had admitted manslaughter but was found guilty of murder.

He was sentenced to life and told he'll have to serve 20 years behind bars before he can be considered for release.
