Two Die At Blackwood Hostel
The police watchdog is investigating after two people died in Blackwood.
Officers were called to the Sirhowy Arms Hotel around 1:30 this morning after reports of a man attacking a woman.
They found a woman with injuries - she later died.
The man was tasered - while he was under arrest he became ill and died.
The Welsh Ambulance Service has confirmed both were pronounced dead at the scene.
The area around the B&B has been cordoned off - with police cars and vans on either side.
It's understood for the last few years the site has been used as a halfway house for people coming out of jail.
Gwent Police has referred what happened to the IPCC.
The watchdog will now examine the events leading up to the man being tasered - and his death.
