Welsh Assembly Election: AMs

60 AMs are elected to the Welsh Assembly. 40 constituency members and 20 regional members.

The constituency AMs are the winners of a "first past the post" vote in each local constituency. The regional AMs are awarded using a "top-up" system which aims to balance the regional vote with the number of constituency AMs awarded to give each party a more representative number of seats in the Assembly.
