Man guilty of care worker murder in Porthmadog
54 year old Iestyn Davies, a wool packer, was this afternoon (Monday 18th April) found guilty of murdering 22 year old Ffion Roberts, by a jury at Caernarfon crown court.
The judge has sentenced the 54 year old to a minimum of 24 years in jail.
Mr Justice Lloyd-Jones told him "You are a very dangerous man. You have been found guilty on the clearest and most compelling evidence. This was a particularly foul crime and wicked. "
He added: " You came upon her and attacked her when she was on her way home. It would have been obvious to you she was extremely drunk and you took advantage of that."
In a statement Ffion's parents Idris and Bethan said:
"Nothing can take away the pain of this terrible crime but we are pleased justice has now been done."
