17 Arrested In Dawn Raids

At 6:30 this morning police carried out dawn raids at 16 addresses to arrest people suspected of drug and burglary offences in Hemel Hempstead.

60 officers and sniffer-dogs went to the properties in Hemel Hempstead, St Albans, Watford, Dunstable and North London.

Drugs and cash were seized at some of the addresses.

Detective Inspector Tim Johnson is leading the operation, he told Heart this has been a big operation that has taken months of planning.

Overall, 17 arrests were made:

- A 20 year old woman from Hemel Hempstead on suspicion of burglary

- A 26 year old man from Hemel Hempstead on suspicion of supply of class B drugs and burglary

- A 31 year old man from Hemel Hempstead on suspicion of supply of class A drugs

- A 41 year old man from Hemel Hempstead on suspicion of supply of class A drugs

- A 41 year old man from Hemel Hempstead on suspicion of supply of class A drugs

- A 32 year old man from Hemel Hempstead on suspicion of supply of class A and B drugs

- A 40 year old man from Hemel Hempstead on suspicion of allowing his property to be used for supply class a drugs

- A 45 year old man from Hemel Hempstead on suspicion of burglary and supply of class A drugs

- A 39 year old man from Hemel Hempstead on suspicion of supply of class A drugs

- A 31 year old man from Hemel Hempstead on suspicion of supply of class A drugs

- A 50 year old man of no fixed address on suspicion of burglary and supply of class A and B drugs

- A 38 year old woman from Hemel Hempstead on suspicion of supply of class A and B drugs

- A 39 year old man from Hemel Hempstead on suspicion of breach of court bail

- A 35 year old man from Hemel Hempstead on suspicion of supply of class B drugs, theft and burglary

- A 30 year old man from London on suspicion of supply of class A drugs

- A 27 year old man from Dunstable on suspicion of supply of class A and B drugs

- A 54 year old man from Hemel Hempstead on suspicion of theft

DI Johnson said: 

"I’m pleased with the results achieved today. This operation follows a protracted intelligence led investigation into supply of Class A drugs in Hemel Hempstead spanning a number of months.

“Often it isn’t only the dealing of drugs that affects a community, but the resulting crime carried out by those looking to feed a drug addiction so we are targeting people suspected of dealing drugs and being involved in burglary, handling stolen goods and other crimes in the area.

“We are committed to driving down crime in Hemel Hempstead and I hope this reassures people that we will act on information from the community about suspected drug activity”
