Boy Injured After Collision With Car In Watford

Police are appealing for witnesses and information following a collision which occurred in Watford yesterday afternoon.

Police are appealing for witnesses and information following a collision which occurred in Watford yesterday afternoon.

The collision occurred in Longspring near to the junction of Leavesden Road and involved a blue Ford Focus, which was being driven by a man in his 80s, and a pedestrian, an eight year old boy.

The boy suffered serious injuries and was taken to the Royal London Hospital by air ambulance where he remains in a stable condition at this time.

The driver of the Ford was not injured.

Sergeant Sam Cordingley said: “This is a busy junction and we are aware there were people in the area at the time who I am confident will have seen what happened who haven’t yet spoken with police. I would ask anyone who witnessed the collision to please contact the Herts Police non-emergency number 101 quoting Operation Renga.”
