Police are looking for a man who is thought to have conned an elderly man into handing over cash

At around 1.10pm on Monday, February 4 an elderly man in the Callowland area of North Watford answered the door to a man claiming to have done decorating work for him.

He said the elderly man still owed him money for the work he did.

He handed over the money and the man made off.

Detective Constable Rachael Gallagher from Operation Manhunt, which investigates fraud and distraction burglary, is investigating. She said:

"This is the second time the victim had been targeted in this way. The previous incident occurred on February 13, 2012 and it is believed the same offender has targeted the elderly victim.

“I would like to speak with this man pictured in the photo about the incident.  It may be that he witnessed the crime or can offer assistance in the investigation.  If you can help identify him I would urge you to contact me as soon as possible.”
