Market Jewel Grab
Police investigating the theft of jewellery from a St Albans market stall have released a picture of a man they want to speak to.
Hertfordshire's police say the offence occurred when a man approached the stall in Market Place and snatched a jewellery case containing a number of necklaces. He then ran from the scene.
The stallholder chased the man along Waddington Road but he managed to get away. The offence occurred at around 12.50pm on Saturday 23 June 2012.
PC John Cooper, from the Safer Neighbourhood Team in St Albans, said: “If this is you or you believe you know this man, please contact police as soon as possible.
“He may have been witness to the crime or have information that could help us with our enquiries.”
Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact Hertfordshire Constabulary on the non-emergency number 101 quoting crime reference F1/12/2020.
Alternatively, you can call Crimestoppers, the independent charity, anonymously on 0800 555 111.
