Passengers Evacuated Off Stranded Train Near Watford Causing Delays To Trains

13 November 2013, 10:14

Commuters are facing severe delays on the trains this morning, after problems with overhead power lines near Watford Junction.

There are lots of delays on the trains this morning, in and out of Milton Keynes Central, because of overhead wire problems at Watford Junction.

Passengers had to be evacuated from a stranded train just north of Watford Junction around 8 this morning.

Those evacuated say they were forced to walk half a mile down the tracks.

John Goss was one of them, he said: "We had to use ladders to get from the train onto the track."

Network Rail are now on site assessing the damage to the overhead wires.

London Midland, Virgin Trains and Southern Trains are all reporting delays to services.
