Police Deny Trouble
Hertfordshire's police are insisting there was no disorder in the county on the night of Monday 8 August 2011, despite social media website rumours.
The force say there were no incidents of criminal disorder in Hertfordshire, although there were disturbances the previous night with a jeweller's broken into and burgled in Waltham Cross. Vandals also attempted to break into another, and two cars were damaged.
Petrol stations in Hertfordshire are being asked not to sell fuel to people filling up cans and bottles. Shops are also being asked to think about removing high value items from their windows overnight.
Hertfordshire Constabulary say they're closely monitoring things and they've sent a team of specialist officers to help the Met Police in London, but this won't impact on Hertfordshire's ability to respond to crime in Herts.
The force say anyone who feels concerned about their community should contact their local neighbourhood team which can found via Hertfordshire Constabulary's website or by calling the non-emergency number 101.
