Police Raids In Watford

Five people have been arrested after raids in Watford and Stanmore this morning.

Around 60 officers were involved in an operation in North Watford this morning targeting people involved in crimes like burglary, robbery and drug offences. 

Amongst those arrested are a 17 year old from Stanmore, who is being questioned on suspicion of assault, a 28 year old woman and a 45 year old man from Watford both arrested on suspicion of theft and 19 year old from St Albans wanted on suspicion of drugs offences. 

Another 19 year old from Watford arrested in connection with suspicion of possession of class B drugs has been cautioned. 

Chief Inspector Nick Caveney said: 'This operation was specifically designed to arrest those who are believed to be committing the types of crime which cause the most harm to our community, such as burglary, robbery, drug related activity and associated anti-social behaviour.'

Officers have also been letting other people in the area know what they have been doing.
