Police Search To Find Missing Murray
14 June 2011, 11:16
As part of the ongoing murder investigation into the disappearance of St Albans man, Murray Thompson, officers have been conducting searches in and around Watford over the past few weeks to try to locate his body.
Following these searches officers are re-issuing an urgent appeal for information about Murray’s whereabouts.
As part of the investigation detectives have been carrying out searches of a number of open spaces. Most recently, in May, a specialist survey boat and a team of divers carried out a search of a fishing lake in Cassiobury Park in Watford.
Searches have also been carried out in Robin Hood Drive in Bushey, the area where Murray’s van was located, and in open areas surrounding the flat where he last visited in St Albans Road, Watford.
Detective Inspector Jerome Kent and a team of detectives from the Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire Major Crime Unit have been investigating since Murray went missing on April 20, 2010.
DI Kent has been telling Heart:
“Although we have four people charged in connection with Murray’s disappearance, we are unrelenting in our search for his body.
“The torture of not knowing where Murray is located is unimaginable for his parents and having been in regular contact with them I know that they are not able to move forward until he is found.
“Our searches have been predominantly concentrated in the Watford area and I believe the people who hold the key to finding him are in Watford or the surrounding areas. You may have overheard a comment made about his death or rumours about where he may be. I implore you to tell us where he is so his parents can have the opportunity to give him a proper burial.”
