Watford Junction Fire
16 April 2013, 11:21
An investigation's underway into a fire in an office block that led to the evacuation of Watford Junction railway station.
More than 40 firefighters were needed to fight the flames in the building at the junction of Clarendon Road and Woodford Road.
The fire started just after 7pm on Monday 15 April 2013. It's thought it started in a fourth floor electrical plant room.
The fire led to Watford Junction station being evacuated and trains being stopped for a time, because of large amounts of smoke that were blowing across to the station. A cordon put up around the building also meant Clarendon Road, Woodford Road and Queens Road were closed.
Investigators were due to examine the scene on Tuesday morning. No-one was injured in the fire and Hertfordshire Police told Heart intial indications were that the fire was non-suspicious.
