9 January 2016, 06:24

A band have told Heart that visiting the refugees in Calais has left them wanting to raise donations at their Birmingham gigs.

Yiyan are signed to a Birmingham label and went to the so called 'jungle camp' twice during 2015.

They have written a song called 'Place of Nowhere' about the refugee crisis.

Martin is the bassist in the band. He told Heart about a couple of his experiences out there that pulled on his heart stings.

The band will be appearing several times around the Midlands throughout January and there will be collection points for any donations.

The first confirmed appearance will be at Soul Care Aesthetics. Cannock WS11 1GR. Monday 25th January 6-8pm. Anyone can drop off goods to be taken to France.

Yiyan have planned a third trip for the end of January with a 7.5 tonne truck donated and paid for by a Dudley based businessman.

Anyone wishing to help or donate should email barry@tpmespr.com
