Breastfeeding Awareness Week

New mums in the Midlands are being encouraged to have a go at feeding their baby the natural way as part of breastfeeding awareness week.

Only 21 percent of mums in the UK are still breastfeeding their baby at 6 weeks old compared to 90 per cent in many other European countries.

Breastfeeding Awareness Week - supported by the Royal College of Midwives  is to help raise the level of understanding about the many benefits of breastfeeding to parents-to-be and their families.

It is hoped the week will help to encourage more mums in the area to give breastfeeding a try.
