Breastfeeding Flashmob video

To celebrate World Breastfeeding Week (1st-7th August) local mums, and professionals, have met at The Public in West Bromwich to take part in a unique flash mob. The flash mob was suggested by local mums to help promote breastfeeding.

They hope that World Breastfeeding Week, will encourage mums to give their child the best start to life...

They met at The Public with stalls offering advice and support. Here's a video of the Flashmob

The World Health Organisation and the Department of Health recommend exclusive breastfeeding for the first six months because of its extensive benefits, some of which include protection against ear infections, eczema and asthma that formula milk doesn’t provide. Breast milk also helps protect against obesity.

Janine Brown, Sandwell Primary Care Trust’s commissioner for maternal health, said

"We are doing a lot of different things to support mums to start and continue breastfeeding."
