5 January 2015, 08:32

Police are looking for two men who assaulted a man in a Birmingham tower block and attempted to rob him.

The 45-year-old victim was attacked as he stepped out of the lift of the Clydesdale Tower, Holloway Head, at around 6pm at November 16 2014.

The two men are believed to have been waiting for him and grabbed him as he entered the communal area. They punched and kicked him, causing him to fall to the floor before rifling through his pockets.

They left empty handed, but left the man with multiple cuts and bruises to his face and hands.

DC Rachel Venner, of Birmingham Central Investigation Team, has asked any witnesses to come forward. "We want to hear from anyone who recognises the men pictured as they are people we would very much like to speak to in connection with this attack," she said.

The first man is described as Asian, in his late 20s, with short black hair, of medium build, and he was wearing a burgundy top or jumper.

The second man was of mixed race, in his late 20s, with short black hair, with stubble and he was wearing a blue top and blue jeans.
