CCTV Over Shrewsbury Bar Assault

CCTV pictures have been released by police investigating an assault in Shropshire.

West Mercia Police are trying to identify a group of people following the attack outside the Buttermarket, Howards Bank, in Shrewsbury, at around 1.30am on Sunday 5th October.

A 30-year-old man from Clwyd was approached by an unknown man whilst he was outside The Buttermarket. The pair fought took place and the suspect assaulted the victim, knocking him to the floor. The victim was taken to hospital and admitted with serious head injuries.

The suspect is described as having brown hair and was wearing a green/blue round necked t-shirt at the time of the attack.

PC Fletcher said, “This is a particularly bad assault in which the victim has been admitted to hospital with serious injuries. We are really keen to hear from anyone who thinks they may be able to help us identify the people in the CCTV footage from that night, or saw any of them leading up to the assault.”
