Charity Calendar

A group of Birmingham women are set to bare all with their latest revealing venture...a nude calendar which is to raise money for the Children's Hospital.

The ladies of Crafty Corner, in Bearwood, have decided to shed their clothing to show their support for the city's Children’s Hospital. Work on the calendar began back in May with the girls showcasing their talents for charity; with craft materials on hand to ensure just the right amount on skin was on show.

Anne Link, Manager at Crafty Corner, said:

“We’ve been involved with various charity projects over the last 12 years and enjoy showing our support which is why this project seemed like the next perfect venture. With the calendar we’re able to raise awareness for a worthy cause whilst being creative and having a giggle.

The ladies involved, 22 in total, range from Erdington to Sutton Coldfield in location and 24 to 72 in age. A team of helpers were on hand from start to finish on shoot day ensuring no hairs or crafts were out of place as local snapper Stephen Hayes captured all on film.

Ethan MarshallThe purpose of the calendar is to make people smile, but it has a serious purpose. We wanted to continue raising funds for the hospital in memory of one of the ladies' little boy Ethan Marshall – a boy who was diagnosed with a complex congenital heart condition just ten days after his birth.

Cardiologists at Birmingham’s Children’s Hospital did all that they could to assist Ethan throughout his difficult and short lifetime but, despite their best efforts, Ethan passed away just three years later.”

Since Ethan’s death his family and friends have raised over £20,000 for Birmingham Children’s Hospital enabling the medical staff to purchase equipment that will give further hope to cardiac children across the UK.

The calendar marks the next important step for the team at crafty corner in their charitable mission. All is set to be unveiled at a presentation evening at the Eaton Hotel in Birmingham on Monday 19 July.

Over 200 guests will be in attendance to show their support for the girls and the cause at the heart of the calendar.
