Parents of children treated at Stafford Hospital's children's ward have said goodbye to the in-patient centre.
Support Stafford Hospital campaigners applauding staff at Shugborough Ward at County Hospital on Friday 15th May as the ward closes this weekend.
It's being closed after administrators were brought in to dissolve the Mid Staffordshire NHS Trust following a report, which found there'd been hundreds of preventable deaths there.
The hospital Trust say they will continue to deliver great care for children with services now being shared across both County Hospital and Royal Stoke Hospital.
Some have moved to New Cross in Wolverhampton too.
Kim Woolliscroft, Paediatric Clinical Manager and Nurse, said: ''I would like to recognise all the fantastic work done by our staff at County children’s unit. They will continue to deliver great care across both sites.''
''Our new services will all provide a modern, up-to-date environment for the children of Stafford and surrounds. We are all looking forward to working closely with the emergency department to provide the best care as near to home as possible.''
