David Cameron unveils railway plans in Birmingham
The Prime Minister visited a rail depot in Birmingham on Monday to announce 9 billion pounds worth of upgrades to the railways across England and Wales.
It's the biggest overhaul of the railways since Victorian times and will start in 2014.
The Government say the taxpayer funded effort will see diesel trains scrapped in favour of electric, services improved and old lines brought back into use.
But some passenger groups say they're worried that it'll see ticket prices go up.
Work is already underway at Birmingham New Street where the whole station is being redeveloped. When finished by 2015 it'll see a new John Lewis store and a tram link to Birmingham Snow Hill which is due to be connected to a new high speed line to London.
Plans for the high speed rail line from London to Birmingham have passed their final big hurdle in Parliament.
