Coventry Nightclub To Have Licence Revoked After Teen Murder

Councillors have made the decision that a nightclub in the West Midlands - where an 18-year-old was stabbed to death - should be shut down.

It was revealed this afternoon (Wednesday) that 'The Society' nightclub in Coventry will have its licence revoked.

After Daniel Kirkwood was killed last month - a police report found bosses of there weren't doing enough to stop people taking weapons into the venue.

It also recommended the nightclub was shut down permanently.

The report also found there were numerous violent incidents in the venue in the last 20 months.

After the 18-year olds death - the club's managers issused a statement to say safety has always been their highest priority.

Five men have been charged with his murder.
