Heart''s been told that a Digbeth businessman was shot dead last week after he refused to hand money over to armed robbers.
56 year-old Akhtar Javeed was killed on Wednesday (3rd Feb) night at his business on Rea Street South after two armed robbers entered the unit, tied up 5 members of staff and demanded he hand over money.
Heart has today been told how the men shot Mr. Javeed after he refused their demands.
Mr. Javeed's daughter Lilis Javeed told Heart the robbers have ruined their lives.
DSI Mark Payne from West Midlands Police says it's clear the offenders didn't plan on this as they fled the scene shortly afterwards.
The force has today released a fresh appeal for information one week on from the incident.
The force has also released some CCTV which they hope will bring forward key witnesses.
This one features the car which the force believes the suspects fled the scene in.
