How the Conservative Conference affects you

The Conservative Party Conference comes to Birmingham next week, which will put the West Midlands on the map in the wake of the Brexit vote. Here's how it might affect you, if you live or work in the city:

There's already no access to vehicles on Broad Street (between Gas Street & Paradise Circus) and Bridge Street, near the conference's main hotel, the Hyatt Regency.

From Thursday night, no vehicles will be allowed onto Cambridge Street between the junctions of Brindley Drive and Civic Close, although residents on Civic Close will be given access.  Two way traffic will be brought in on Cambridge Street between Paradise Circus and Brindley Drive.

But Sunday sees restrictions tighten further.

The areas near the conference centre around Broad Street, Bridge Street and Cambridge Street will be open to pedestrians only, while bus stops on Broad Street between Sheepcote Street and Paradise Circus, will be suspended, affecting a host of bus services.

Restrictions will stay in place until Thursday evening apart from on Cambridge Street which will stay closed to vehicles until 5am next Friday.

Details as follows:
