Investigation After Man Shot In Coventry
An investigation is on after a man suffered head injuries after being shot in Coventry.
The 21-year-old was in the front passenger seat of a black Peugeot 206, travelling along Mercer Avenue when he was shot at around 5.50pm on Friday 10 April.
West Midlands Police say he is in a critical condition in hospital with a serious head injury.
Detective Sergeant Michelle Kiedron said: "We are at the very early stages of an investigation but from we understand so far, the car was driving towards the Stoke area when the man received his injury.
"At this time, this is not thought to be a random attack and we believe the victim may know who is responsible but - due to his condition − he is clearly not in a position to tell us.
"This shooting happened in broad daylight - someone must have witnessed it and can give us a description of whoever is behind it."
Anyone with any information is being asked to call West Midlands Police on 101.
