Man Arrested In Birmingham Over Terror Offences Bailed

A man from Birmingham's arrested on suspicion of Syria-related terror offences has been bailed by police.

The 25-year-old from Yardley Wood was arrested by West Midlands Police around 7 o'clock yesterday morning. (Wednesday)

He was detained by officers from the West Midlands Counter Terrorism Unit at an address in Billesley.

Police say the action was pre-planned and intelligence led. There was no immediate threat to public safety.

The man was arrested on suspicion of preparing for terrorist acts, contrary to Section 5 of the Terrorism Act 2006.
