Men Hit By Car Outside Pub

A man is being questioned by police after two others were hit by a car outside a pub in Wolverhampton.

The pair were outside the Workers Rest pub, Union Street, Willenhall when they were hit at 00.30am on Saturday 1st November. 

One of the men, a 41-year-old is in a critical condition in hospital with serious head and neck injuries, whilst a 25-year-old suffered minor cuts and bruises.

West Midlands Police say the two men were struck by a silver E Class Mercedes registration YG64 VZK which police have not yet recovered. 

A 27-year-old Wolverhampton man was arrested on suspicion of attempt murder and remains in custody. 

Detective Inspector Phil Asquith, from force CID, said: "We are investigating the circumstances that led up to this collision and we are anxious to trace the Mercedes as part of our enquiries."
