Refugee Who's Spent Time In West Midlands Saves 14 Others In Lorry

The 7 year-old text his camp case worker from Calais when he feared he and the people inside the lorry would die

Heart's been speaking to a 7-year-old refugee from Afghanistan, who saved himself, his brother and thirteen others in Leicestershire, when they were trapped in the back of a lorry.

They were being driven into the UK from Calais illegally, when Ahmad started to feel like he couldn't breathe in the container.

He text his case worker who he met in France, she was now in New York.

The case worker called police who went and found the lorry at Leicester Forest East services on the M1.

Ahmad is hoping for a better future now he's here.

Ahmad has spent time in Birmingham since coming over to the UK - Georgina Klein has been his teacher in the city.
