Ringing the Olympic bells across The West Midlands

Thousands of people across The West Midlands have taken part in a mass bell ringing to mark the start of the 2012 London Olympics.

Turner Prize winning artist Martin Creed came up with the idea. He described it as a work of art, and called it 'Work No. 1197.'

In Birmingham around 50 people gathered in Brindley Place to celebrate the start of the games.
