Shots Fired In Birmingham

An investigation has been launched after a man was injured when shots were fired in a Stechford street this afternoon (12 August).

Police received an emergency call just after 1.30pm when two cars collided and a gun was discharged at the junction of St Edburgh’s Road and Stoney Lane. The offending vehicle drove off in the direction of Yardley.
 
A man attended hospital a short time later with a head and arm injury. His injuries are not considered life threatening.
 
The road has been closed whilst searches and forensic examinations are carried out at the scene.
 
Officers have launched an investigation and urge anyone who was in the area, or has information to assist their inquiry to contact them at Birmingham East police by dialling 101.
