Slippery new resident

West Midland Safari Park has a new resident - a five meter long python that weighs 40 kilos.

She arrived at the Reptile House from a zoo in Poland and could double in size as Reticulated Pythons, which are native to Southeast Asia, can reach 10 meters long.

Although she is non-venomous, a large specimen is easily capable of killing a man by constriction, so the keepers at West Midland Safari Park have to be especially careful working around her.
