Snow leopards settle in

There are some un-usual residents settling in to their new home in the Midlands.

Twycross Zoo is introducing snow leopards from Tokyo and Sweden to its brand new Himalaya's visitor centre.

The female snow leopard called Irma was born on teh 24th May 08. Her male partner called Suou is just over a month older and was on born 9th April 08.  

The big cats body is roughly the same length as their tale, upto 130 cms amd they don't roar but meow, hiss, grow and purr like domestic cats.

The new Himalaya's visitor centre at Twycross Zoo is part of seven million pounds worth of investment.
