STRIKES over Pay and Pensions

A huge number of schools across the Midlands closed on Thursday the 30th of June because of a mass strike across the UK.

Teachers took industrial action in a row over pay and pensions as well as public sector workers.

10,000 UNISON Birmingham manual workers rallied through the city centre over cuts to weekend rates and pensions.

Heart spoke to all the councils in the West Midlands to find out which schools shut their gates:

Wolverhampton

Dudley

Sandwell

Staffordshire

Warwickshire

Worcestershire

Shropshire

UK Border Agency staff also walked out causing delays at Passport control affecting flights.
