Taxi Driver Killed In Suspected Hit And Run In Birmingham

A 47 year old was knocked down by a car as he stood next to his cab in Edgbaston.

A taxi driver has died after he was involved in a suspected hit-and-run.

The 47-year-old man suffered fatal injuries as he stood next to his parked vehicle in City Road, Edgbaston, Birmingham, at about 1.50am on Tuesday.

Medics battled to save the victim, but he was pronounced dead at hospital.

Sergeant Alan Hands, of West Midlands Police, said: "At the moment, we are keeping an open mind around what might have happened, but we really need anyone who witnessed the collision or the lead-up to it to give us a call.

"The family of the man are being supported by specialist officers at this tragic time and our thoughts remain with them."
