Three Arrested After Schoolboy Stabbed In Erdington

Police have arrested three teenagers after a schoolboy was stabbed at an Erdington school.

Officers were called to City of Birmingham School, Fentham Road, just after 1.30pm on Thursday 10 November following reports that a group of people had entered the school and had stabbed a 15-year-old boy.

The teenager was treated by the ambulance service and taken to hospital with serious injuries where he remains in a stable condition.

Two teenage boys aged 16 and 17 were arrested a short time later on suspicion of attempted murder and are currently helping police with their enquiries.

An investigation has been launched and searches are currently on-going to apprehend the other suspects.

Superintendent Mark Payne, from the force’s CID, said: "This is a fast paced investigation and we are still conducting enquiries to establish the circumstances around today’s incident.

"We are working closely with the school and if anyone has any information then I am urging them to speak to police or to call us as a matter of urgency."

Anyone with information is urged to call West Midlands Police on 101.
