Warwickshire police need to save £23M

Warwickshire Police need to save almost 23 million pounds over the next four years as their budget is going to be slashed.

Job losses, a change of locations and department mergers are on the cards.

Chief Constable Keith Bristow told Heart it's not going to be easy: "We are going to be experiencing some redundancies...we are talking about a lot of people leaving...but I'm sure we can make the changes and still minimise the impact on the public."

"Whatever funding we receive, we will deliver the best protection that we can...crime has fallen by 27% in the last four years...Warwickshire is a safe county and we intend to stay focused, making sure that continues to be the case."
