West Midlands consultation on HS2
People affected by plans to build a high speed rail line through the West Midlands are being asked for their views in a new consultation.
The line will connect London and the West Midlands, cutting journey times between the capital and Birmingham to 49 minutes.
At consultation events, people will be able to discuss any property effected by the plans and there will be the opportunity to see route maps.
HS2 Ltd Chief executive Alison Munro said:
"The new high speed rail network will help to grow the economy by providing capacity to meet the rising demand for trains services by improving connections between our major cities. We do understand the impact it will have on people living close to the line and the Government has recently published a range of property compensation measures for consultation.
The information events we are running are an opportunity for those directly effected to come and discuss the proposals in more detail with our property teams."
