West Midlands Has Worst GCSE Results In The Country

Birmingham MP says it's shocking that the West Midlands now has the worst GCSE results in the country.

The government figures for this summer's results show teenagers in the South East and in London are doing much better than those in the Midlands and the north.

Just under 60% in our region got A*-C in English and Maths compared to 66% in London.

Steve McCabe - the MP for Selly Oak - told Heart the focus needs to shift from creating new schools to funding more help:
