A woman arrested after her young daughter was killed in a crash in Birmingham has been released by police.
Police were called to the collision on Gibbins Road, Selly Oak, at around 4pm where a Ford Fiesta had left the road and hit a tree.
Witnesses provided CPR on a two-year-old girl, a back seat passenger, and paramedics later tried to revive the toddler but she was pronounced dead in hospital.
Four other people in the vehicle, including the girl's mother who was driving, suffered non-life threatening injuries.
A post mortem examination will take place in due course to determine the precise cause of death.
The woman, aged 22, was detained on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and child neglect. She was later released and will be interviewed in connection with the collision at a later date.
Police are appealing for witnesses and anyone who saw the collision is asked to call 101.
