Worries For Missing Birmingham Teenager

3 January 2015, 08:00

Police in Birmingham say they're concerned for the welfare of a missing teenager who was last seen on New Year's Eve.

13-year-old Sharntay Dixon, from Jubilee Gardens, Erdington, was last seen at 2pm outside the One Stop shop in Perry Barr.

She has family and friends in Walsall, Oldbury, Kingstanding, Erdington and Selly Oak and police have carried out checks at a number of addresses she knows but haven't been able to find her.

She is described as a slim black girl, 4ft 6ins tall and was wearing a fake black fur coat, jeans and trainers when she was last seen.

Detective Constable Laura Halpin, from Force CID in Sutton Coldfield, said: "We're urging Shantay or anyone who knows her to make contact. We just want to ensure she is safe.

"Anyone who believes they may have seen her is asked to call us on the 101 number."
