Where do Ed & Rachel love to go after the Breakfast show? Check out their favourite stalls at the German Market
It's no secret that Ed & Rachel both have a weak spot for chocolate, in fact one of Ed's favourite things about December is buying himself a chocolate advent calendar for the Heart Studio! If you want to try Rachel's favourite food item from this stall then go for the 'Dark Chocolate covered Strawberries', they are out of this world!
You're going to notice a lot of food stalls in Ed & Rachel's top 10 favourites... But there's a good reason why, the food is incredible. This stall has every kind of nut, covered in all sorts of different sauces and Rachel's favourite has to be the Nutella covered almonds. You will always see her with a bag of these when she's down at the Christmas Market. You know Christmas is on the way when you're sharing a big bag of warm nuts!
Forget about last minute shopping in the high street stores on Christmas Eve and buying a rubbish shower set for a family member, this craft stall has so many unique and interesting pieces, and they all get wrapped up in coloured paper and put into a neat little box to give straight to someone on Christmas Day! Ed surprisingly is good at buying presents and has bought his family a new hand made angel for the top of the family Christmas Tree!
You can't go down to the Christmas Market and not try a tankard of traditional German Beer. This stall is fantastic as it serves every kind of drink from Gluehein to flavoured hot chocolates and then when you've grabbed your drink stand at one of the fancy bar tables in the middle of the street and just take in the atmosphere. Normally there is a street musician near this stall as well which just adds to the festive feeling.
This is the first stall you will see as you come round the corner from Paradise Circus into Victoria Square and it's one of the best! Just head straight for this stall for your first Liqueur Hot Chocolate. You get the drink in a special Christmas Market mug and make sure you ask for plenty of cream. Just don't use your fingers to eat the cream like Ed does!
How cute is this stall?! This is probably the biggest gift stall in the entire market and it's full of amazing gems and trinkets. If someone asks you to bring them something back from the German Market then just head to this stall and pick up a pot or glass ornament which would fit perfectly on a mantle piece alongside the Christmas decorations.
You can tell why this is one of Ed's personal favourites. This stall sells German Beer at one side, and German Bratwurst's from the other side! Sausage and beer is the perfect Christmas Market combination and we're sure Ed visits this stall at least once a week!
Hats off to whoever put this stall together because it is beautiful, you can't miss it either as you walk down from Victoria Square to Grand Central. We're not sure what it sells, mainly because every time we walk past we're always looking up to the sky at the moving christmas decorations on top.
This is the hidden surprise of the German Market because we've never seen anything like it. It's a Honey Stall! All the pot are filled with authentic German honey flavoured with loads of festive flavours. The honey is stored in a glass jar and then fruits and spices are added to change the colour and taste! When you walk past look out for the cinnamon honey, and bring a jar back for Rachel please.
This had to be our favourite stall, why? Because it's a sweet lovers heaven! There's candy canes, bags of marshmallows, traditional German Chocolate bars that we don't even know how to pronounce and the biggest Pic N Mix selection. It's in the heart of Victoria Square and make sure you pop a little bit of everything in your bag to eat whilst you're wandering around the rest of the market.
