ATHLETICS WEEK ON HEART WEST MIDLANDS

RULES


The following rules (“Rules”) together with Global Radio’s ("Global Radio") general and competition terms and conditions (the “Terms and Conditions”) (which can be found at http://www.heart.co.uk/westmids/apply to “Athletics Week” radio competition ("the Competition") which will run from Monday 15th February to Friday 19th February 2010 (“the Duration”).  The "Radio Station" is Heart West Midlands

Anyone who enters the Competition (an “Entrant”) will be deemed to have understood these Rules along with the Terms and Conditions and will be bound by them.  The Terms and Conditions are available on request from the Radio Station.

1)    Details of the Competition

1.1    To enter the Competition an Entrant must
       Call the “Telephone Line”).  Telephone calls will be charged at standard network rates.    
             The opening and closing times of the Telephone Line will be given out on air.
1.2     The mechanic will be loosely based around an athletics sporting event each day and questions will be asked to determine the winner

1.3 Mechanic details

On Monday - we will play the ‘Family 4x4 Relay'.  

We will invite a family to air (including adults and children).  There will be a lead caller who will be the team’s captain. We will ask them 4 questions.  Each question will be aimed at a different family member, e.g. a couple of grown up questions and a couple of children’s questions.  They can help each other to answer the questions to complete the relay!  
For every question they answer correctly they will win a prize.

On Tuesday - we will play the 'Sprint'.  
The presenter will bring a caller to air who then has to answer a question about the sprint.  

On Wednesday - we will play the 'Shot Putt'!
The presenters will play out an audio clip of a sports/athletics personality.
The randomly selected caller will then have 1 shot to guess who it is!  Get it right and they win! If not we move to the next caller who will have one shot to guess.  

On Thursday - we will play the 'High Jump'.
The presenters will bring 2 callers to air.  Off air, a coin will be tossed to decide which caller will be able to guess first.  The presenters will then set a ‘closest to the pin’ question – the caller who guesses most accurately to the actual answer win win.
 
On Friday - 'The Hurdles'!  
We will bring a caller to air – There will be 4 questions in total, they need to jump over each one to keep winning.

For every hurdle (question) they answer correctly they will win a prize.

3.1    The prize is as follows

Monday 15th February to Friday 19th February 2010
For getting to air the contestant will win £600 and then if they are successful they’ll win that day’s prize.
