As the number one sponsor of UK athletics for over a decade, Aviva are on a mission to reward the unsung sporting heroes in your area with a lap of honour at the Aviva Grand Prix Athletics event in Birmingham. We’ve got all the details right here – plus, find out how you could get your hands on a bundle of goodies that will inspire you and your family to get active…
Whether it’s your long suffering mum who ferries you to and from footy practice, or your inspirational and hard-working school PE teacher, if they’re a champion in your eyes, why not reward them for their unwavering commitment to sport and nominate them for the Aviva Lap of Honour?
Your unsung hero could win the chance to do a Lap of Honour, sharing the stage with some of the world’s finest athletes at the Aviva Grand Prix Athletics event, taking place on Saturday 20 February at the NIA in Birmingham. If your nominated person is chosen, you’ll also receive £1000 to donate to a sporting cause of your choice.

To nominate your unsung sporting hero simply email lapofhonour@aviva.co.uk with a 150 word explanation of why they deserve to win. Don’t forget to include your name and telephone number too in case you’re the lucky winner.
Tickets for the Aviva Grand Prix athletics event are still available. Just call 08000 55 60 56 or book online
Win prizes for all the family
We’re getting into the sporting spirit here at Heart and giving you and your family the chance to win prizes that will inspire you to get active. Up for grabs is a Nintendo Wii Fit, a Wii Fit Balance Board, Sonic and Mario at the Olympics game, the EA Sports Active Personal Fitness Trainer programme and £600 cash - spend it on gym membership, a new bike or whatever you want!
You’ll need to listen out for your chance to get in touch with the studio and play onair. Here’s how it will work across the week:
Monday: we’ll be looking for a family of 4 to play our on air 4x4 relay
Tuesday: we’ll be playing the sprint and challenging you to answer a question about the sprint.
Wednesday: we’ll be playing Shot Putt and giving you one shot to correctly identify our mystery celebrity sports personality.
Thursday: we’ll be playing High Jump when two callers will battle it out head to head to answer a question. The caller who guesses closest to the correct answer wins.
Friday: we’ll be jumping over hurdles. For every question or hurdle you answer correctly you’ll win a prize.
Don’t miss your chance to enter, good luck!
