Judith Stephenson, McArthurGlen’s Swindon Style Consultant, says:

Colour blocking is one of the most prominent trends around for spring.

Ted Bakers Flashie skirt, with its block colour stripes in bright colours, is a perfect example of this but for those that don’t want to wear the trend so obviously, accessories are a really good way of introducing new ideas and getting the look.

From summer dresses to sun hats, there is so much available in the centre that taps into this trend.

Bright, bold colours are going to be huge this season – particularly hot pinks, lemons, limes and aqua blue. I’m a huge advocate for indulging in colour, so long as you choose shades which complement your skin tone. It makes so much difference. For example, if you’re cool toned, (pink or rosy under tones to your skin) blue works really well, while warm skin tones, look great in yellow hues.

A must-have item for any spring wardrobe is a structured Jackie-O style cropped jacket.

The chicest way to wrap up in the evenings, they look great teamed with 70’s style flared jeans and towering wedges.

Phase Eight’s Dorothy Corsage Jacket, is a perfect example and also ticks the box for the royal regal look, which is experiencing a revival at the moment with the upcoming Royal wedding on the horizon.

Dressing for your shape is the key to pulling off seasonal trends and making sure you feel confident in your clothes. If you’re curvier, v-neck tops, help draw the eye down and teaming with a wide leg trouser, will help balance the outfit. Boyish figures should choose a dress which pulls in at the waist. LK Bennett’s Dr Palm dress is ideal - team this with a pair of heeled shoes, like the LK Bennett Jonquil pair, for a truly feminine lady like look.”
