Swindon: 9 Year Old Girl Killed In Collision

A nine-year-old girl who died following a collision with a bus in Swindon yesterday has been named.

Caitlin Hunt, from Swindon, died following the incident which took place shortly before 5.50pm yesterday (Tuesday March 18th 2014) on Moredon Road close to the junction with Church Walk. 

Paramedics and police officers attended the incident but Caitlin was sadly pronounced dead at the scene. 

Specially trained officers are currently helping support the family at this time. 

Local Inspector Paul Hacker from Wiltshire Police said: "This is a tragic incident and our thoughts remain with Caitlin's family at this time. 

"I would like to reassure the local community that a robust police investigation is well underway and I would ask that anyone with information or who witnessed the incident to contact Wiltshire Police immediately. 

"At this stage of the investigation, it appears that this was a tragic accident." 

Officers from the Serious Collision Investigation Team are appealing to anyone who witnessed the collision and have not yet spoken to police to come forward immediately.
