The male cyclist, who came off his bike in Corsham on Tuesday 19th November, has passed away in hospital.

The 67 year old from the local area was found lying unconscious in the road in Dickens Avenue at around 7.30am.

Emergency services treated the man at the scene and he was taken to Frenchay Hospital in Bristol by land ambulance having suffered serious head injuries.

He had been cycling along Dickens Avenue in the direction of Charles Street after just finishing a paper round and was still carrying the empty orange bag in which he kept the newspapers. No other vehicles are believed to be involved.

Officers from the Wiltshire Police Serious Collision Investigation Team (SCIT) are investigating the circumstances around the incident and would like to hear from anyone who saw the man cycling in the Dickens Avenue Area.

The road was closed for approximately three hours whilst enquiries at the scene took place.
