Man jailed for stabbing
A 20 year old man from Swindon has been jailed for nearly 4 years after stabbing another man after a road rage incident.
Nicolae Byfield from Castleton Road pleaded guilty to stabbing the man 3 times and leaving him with a punctured lung. He was sentenced at Swindon Crown Court on Wednesday for 3 years and 10 months for Grevious Bodily Harm (GBH) and 9 months, to run concurrently, for possession of an offensive weapon.
Detective Constable Mark Hutchinson from Swindon CID said: "This was a nasty attack which left the victim with serious injuries. I would like to thank those members of the public who helped us throughout this investigation and whose help meant we were able to identify the person responsible for this heinous crime and has allowed us to be where we are today.
"The sentence imposed reflects the seriousness of this incident and this case should send a clear message that we will not tolerate the criminal use of any weapon and when this is the case we will take all the necessary action to ensure those responsible are identified and all appropriate action is taken against them."
