My secret confession
4th July: What I'm about to say could change your view of me forever.
But in the interests of transparency and being totally up front with you, I feel it's time to get something off my chest.
I'm not joining in with the craze that is currently sweeping the nation. I have yet to read one single paragraph of the book that EVERYONE is talking about. I'm well and truly not in the club.
Fifty Shades of Grey - is it really all that?
Everywhere I turn I'm confronted with Fifty Shades chat. On a recent visit to my parents in Devon I was subjected to my sister reading out parts of it at the kitchen table (in front of my dad, *cringe*). I can't turn on Facebook without at least ten status updates about this very book. And don't even get me started on Twitter.
So what is it that everyone is going on about? I've heard people call the book "addictive", "naughty" and "badly written". But it seems to be bigger than Harry Potter!
I'm not sure exactly why I'm yet to purchase a copy. I think it may be something to do with my inner rebel. Because everyone is telling me I have to read it, I don't want to. I'm not always very good at doing what I'm told.
So I've decided to start an alternative club. The I'm Not Reading Fifty Shades of Grey club. Who's in?
(By the way, if you're a fan, you have 3 weeks to convince me that it's worth adding to my holiday reading list!)
