Why eggs are the best

2nd April: I love eggs. Poached or fried. Scrambled or boiled. It doesn’t matter how they come, I just love them.

But I especially love them raw. In fact, just the thought of a lovely juicy raw egg makes me start rubbing my hands together in glee.

Of course I wouldn’t eat a raw egg. That’s just gross (even with a dash of Worcestershire Sauce – I just couldn’t do it to myself). No, what I like to do with a big fat raw egg is crack it on the head of my wonderful colleague, Jez Clarke.

Don’t get me wrong. I don’t have anything against him. I rather like him in fact. Jez is like a cross between an uncle / big brother / dad to me. He’s sensible and organised to my stupid and chaotic. He’s the Ying to my Yang. I could go on…

But, let’s face it, Jez isn’t always the most supportive. He can even be a tad cocky at times. Remember the bus driving episode? He was more worried about being stuck on the top deck than offering me any real support as I battled my fear of being in charge of THE LARGEST VEHICLE EVER!

So, for the Easter holidays only, Producer Adrian and I have come up with a little game. We’ve decided to play a spot of Egg Roulette.

It’s simple. Here’s how it works:

  • Producer Adrian buys a box of 12 eggs.
  • Producer Adrian randomly boils some of the eggs (without telling Jez or I which ones are which).
  • Producer Adrian numbers the eggs, from 1 to 12.
  • One of you lovely lot gets to pick a number.
  • I take the egg that correlates to that number.
  • I crack the egg on Jez’s head.

Of course, we’re all secretly (or not so secretly, as the case may be) hoping that the egg picked will be a raw one. But no one knows until the shell breaks.

We had our first round of Egg Roulette this morning. Producer Adrian filmed the entire thing. Check out the video on the Heart Wiltshire Facebook page.

While you’re there, perhaps you might have a sneaky suggestion of which number we should pick tomorrow.
