The Leftovers

Autumn’s here so it’s time to curl up in front of the TV on Tuesdays at 9pm and get into a thrilling new series on Sky Atlantic from the co-creator of Lost and director of Friday Night Lights.

The Leftovers is an HBO drama series. Adapted from Tom Perrotta's 2011 bestseller and starring Justin Theroux, Liv Tyler and Christopher Eccleston, it tells the story of those left behind, three years after 140 million people (2% of the world's population) disappeared without trace.

Seen primarily through the eyes of police chief Kevin Garvey (Justin Theroux), the series shows how an ordinary US town unites and divides under the strain of understanding what has happened around them.
